I am proud of my self-actualizing this week. KS would call this “speaking things into existence.” On Monday, I found myself really worrying that I’d forgotten how to be self-sufficient when I didn’t have boys clamoring for my affections on any given day. By Tuesday, I was seriously OkCupiding for the first time in a while. Wednesday, I told [Booskie] that I wanted to make a conscious effort to remember how I used to entertain myself when I was single, and I bought LivingSocial deals for a new yoga studio and a one-time therapeutic massage class, and went to an indie black film screening. Tonight I went to a Princeton Club happy hour, had a good catch-up with my friend RG, and took a leap to save a faltering OkC interaction–I asked a guy out on a date.
I think reintroducing myself to socializing is going quite well.
